A worker is a physical server on which STRATUM runs or manages virtual infrastructure workloads.
Control-plane-only systems do not require a worker license. When a system functions as both a controller and a workload host, it counts as one worker.
STRATUM does not divide networking, automation, topology, GPU infrastructure, lifecycle operations, security integration, and management into separately licensed products.
You license the workers you operate. STRATUM provides the virtual datacenter.
Many infrastructure products license processor cores, sockets, capacity, or separate feature packages. That can cause software costs to increase when an organization replaces an older server with a newer, denser system—even when the number of physical hosts remains unchanged. STRATUM enables you to buy more capable infrastructure because the mission requires it, not because the licensing model permits it.
